Uday Vasant Chitre Uday V Chitre ji – His passion for Sound saw him enroll for Radio & Telecommunications Engineering from Mumbai, Maharashtra state Technical Board (1973). He joined Radio & TV commercials Pvt. Ltd in June 1974 as a Sound Recordist and then there was no looking back. Recorded various radio programs be it musical shows or Radio plays or Ameen Sayani ji’s Radio shows. He was awarded Cleo International Award and RAPA award for his work. He joined the legendary Western Outdoors Studios in January 1981 as Recording Engineer. Started with recording Jingles and Radio programs and then moved on to recording Music albums, TV shows, Film songs, Live shows and Light & Sound shows. Has worked with singers Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz, Bhupendra Singh…Music Directors Viju Shah, Uttam Singh, Jatin Lalit…Live shows for Jagjit Singh , Lata Mangeshkar, Phalguni Phatak and various renowned Indian Classical musicians.Engineered sound for Gwalior Fort , Cellular Jail at Andaman Island and Udaipur Fort.Done a complete sound design for Golconda fort at Hyderabad, Agra fort at Agra , Purana Quila at New Delhi, Shanivarwada at Pune, Fort at Akluse near Solapur.   Sound design for famous 350 artist open air Play “Janata Raja”,on Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj which included dialogues, background score and sound effects. His calm nature and invaluable knowledge is an asset for the students. He is presently also the Chairman of Audio Engineering Society, India.
